Since the beginning of Roman Signer´s artistic career, time has been an ever present theme in his work, not only as a concept but also as a material to be used in the creation of what he tends to call "events"; that is to say, sculptures which are transformed in and by time.

In Roman Signer´s work the artistic act takes on a predominantly experimental nature, which involves the appreciation of the notions of contingency, duration and unpredictability.
